"Origin of Life: a Quest for Religious Truth"  – Dr. David Herbert M.A., M.Div., Ed.D., author and retired history teacher

Sunday, November 22, 2009 marks the 150th anniversary of the publication of Darwin's Origin of Species. In his newest book, Charles Darwin's Religious Views (March 2009), Dr. David Herbert maintains that Origin of Species gives valuable insights into Darwin's religious views. The question concerning the origin of life must be approached as a religious topic. Neither creationism nor evolutionism is scientific but both are based on definable underlying assumptions.Theistic Evolutionism—an approach which is gaining wide acceptance within evangelical circles—will be examined. A new DVD released by Creation Ministries International titled, "The Voyage that Shook the World," will be shown during Dr. Herbert's presentation.

“New Members Class” – Pastor Aaron Groat

If you are new to Stoney Creek, please join us for this special new members class.  Please sign up at the welcome centre or call the office to register.

“The Art of Confession” – Andrew Lukas

We know we’re supposed to practice confession, but confession seems so difficult. In the Art of Confession we’ll learn about the different ways confession shows up in our lives and how we can learn to practice self-confession, confession to God and confession to others. We’ll see how confession is the gateway to forgiveness, repentance and healing and how confession helps us grow and mature in our faith and relationships.
