Welcome to the Women's Ministry page of our website.
Our Women's Ministry events and activities have come to an end for this season. What a great year we have had - from our Movie Night, Bible studies, book club discussions, bridal showers, our Women's Day with Kathy Butryn - to our Beth Moore Bible Study on the Book of Daniel. We praise God for how He is working in the lives of the women of Stoney Creek. As Beth Moore says, "May we shine bright till all is well".
Watch this space for information about a couple more bridal showers over the summer months and for dates and times of the events we're planning for the Fall.
1. BRIDAL SHOWER - All women are invited to attend a bridal shower on Tuesday June 4th at 7:30 p.m. in the chapel. We will be honouring Mandy Blackmore on her upcoming marriage to Cory Champeau. You may contribute to a group gift by donating at the Welcome Centre, or you may purchase your own gift. Mandy and Cory are registered at Sears. Please consider encouraging this young couple by joining in this evening of celebration with Mandy.
2. Here is the recipe for the delicious carrot soup that was served at our Women's Day in April. Thanks to Sandra Hill for preparing it for us and for sharing the recipe. Bon Appetit!
Carrot Soup - 4 servings
1 small onion, chopped
3 tablespoons butter
1 cup milk
1 cup chicken stock
2 carrots, peeled, chopped and cooked
4 tablespoons flour
salt and pepper
dried parsley
Saute onion with butter. In a large bowl add rest of ingredients and onion. Pour into a blender and pulse
a few times until you still see small chunks of carrots. Pour back into a medium size pot. Heat through
on medium-low, stirring often. If thicker soup is preferred, make a small liquid paste of cornstarch
and water and add while hot. Enjoy!
