Missions Conference Offering

BEREAN INITIATIVE PROJECT

As part of this year's Missions Conference, we want to help support ongoing church planting efforts among a people group in Latin America through Ethnos Canada.

Background: As a newly literate society, the Maco believers of South America lack the skills necessary to read and analyze the written Word. Our desire is to see them go beyond merely reading, to search and discover truths within the written texts.

The Berean Initiative exists to assist the maturing Maco church by bridging the gap between orality and literacy, bringing critical reasoning to their understanding of the written Word. They do this with the end goal of seeing the Maco church be self-sustaining for generations to come. The estimated annual need for this project is $21,000.

How You’ll Be Helping

Your gift will help the church planting team to empower the Maco people to be more like the Bereans of old as they become more and more exposed to new teachings both in their jungle environment and out in town. This will be done in a variety of ways that include workshops, consultant visits, computers and other digital tools. The goal of the Berean Initiative, then, is to equip the Macos to draw doctrine, theology and guidance for Christian living from the Scriptures themselves. As their Bible translation nears completion, your gift will help the Berean Initiative team work with the people to see these skills developed and sharpened.

We'd love if you'd prayerfully consider giving to this project over the course of our Missions Conference. Our goal is to raise $10,000, 100% of which will go towards the Berean Initiative Project.
