What is faith foundations?
Faith Foundations is part of the discipleship ministry of Stoney Creek. It's church-based theological education designed to equip our church family for life and ministry (Eph. 4:12).
Goals:
- Discipleship: To provide opportunities for deeper discipleship and increased biblical literacy.
- Leadership Development: To train and equip leaders and teachers for the Church.
- Teaching Opportunities: To provide teaching opportunities for gifted teachers in our church family.
Format:
- Multi-week courses on the foundations of the Christian faith
- On occasion, we're also planning to offer one-time plenary sessions on special topics (ie. moral theology issues, parenting & marriage, etc.)
Upcoming courses & sessions
We're offering a Faith Foundations Guided Study option this fall, exploring biblical studies in groups of eight people or less. Rather than a "lecture-based" approach, participants will engage in independent study with three meetings a month. The meetings will be focused on guided discussion, clarification of key concepts, and study direction. Space is limited.
